Actually, they aren't the same thing at all, and they aren't interchangeable either.
Coconut milk is not the juice found inside a coconut, but the diluted cream pressed out from the thick, white flesh of a well-matured coconut. Coconut milk is a rich, creamy liquid made from water and coconut pulp.
Cream of coconut - Cream of coconut is a smooth, thick liquid made from fresh coconuts. It is thick and very sweet, and commonly used in mixed drinks.

Usually 'Cream of Coconut' is particularly high in sugar. Check the can. See how much sugar is added to it.
Coconut Milk doesn't have such a high sugar content. It is what you need to make a curry. You could use like 2-3 T of your cream of coconut in the curry sauce, but I doubt you'd like to use the whole can; would prob be too sweet.
The only real difference is consistency; coconut cream is thicker than coconut milk because it contains less water.
The taste probably won't be much different, but the consistency may be off. You might want to add a little water to think it out.
The cream of coconut is thicker then the milk, you can try watering the cream of coconut down. That should help.
