Can i give my new born baby some light food or ice cream?

he is 3 months oldCan i give my new born baby some light food or ice cream?
You really should wait until baby is six months and start on bland foods such as ground rice. Ask you health visitor or at the baby clinicCan i give my new born baby some light food or ice cream?
The thinking now is that they shouldn't start weaning till they're 6 months old, though 7 years ago when my son was a baby it was 4 months. However, at whatever age you decide to wean - and I'd stick to 6 months as that's what they recommend now - ice cream is absolutely not suitable.

To start with you just want to give them a tiny bit of baby rice, literally a spoon or two before one bottle and gradually build it up. Once your baby is used to this you can start giving vegetables. It's better by far to make these yourself. You just need to cook a vegetable eg carrots and then puree it till completely smooth.

You can freeze extra in ice-cube trays as 1 or 2 cubes is enough to start with. You should introduce one food at a time, ie if you start with carrots, only give carrots for a few days then introduce something else such as sweet potato for a few days then the next thing etc. After a few weeks you can add fish or meat, I did this by mixing a little in with potato. Don't give the baby processed foods (like ice cream) until you absolutely have to and don't add salt or sugar.

Once they start mixing with other children they'll want this stuff, but if you can get them onto a good start with pure foods you'll be doing them and yourself (there's nothing worse than a faddy eater) a huge favour.
No absolutely not. You could cause serious harm to your baby. 3 months is far too young to start on any food. Please speak to your Health Visitor or Doctor.
NO!! Don't do this. He's too young for foods yet.

The doctor will give you the go ahead when to start on solids and it certainly won't be with with ';light food or ice cream.';

You'll get his whole digestive system out of whack and he'll suffer for it.
i would let him have tastes in his mouth but not spoonfuls of anything, though recommendations are you wait until the child is 6 months before introducing solids it can be detrimental to the growth of their little insides
I think the above people are right, the baby has got to be 6 months before having anything solid. You should consult with the babies doctor for more info.
The short answer is no.

as other people have pointed out 6 months is around the normal time frame inwhich a child begins intake of solid food.

For the first few months of life, a baby gets all the intake it needs from formula or breast milk. You should go to your regularly scheduled check ups with your doctor inorder to chart the growth of your child. They will give you helpful information about the progress of your child.

If you live in the USA: you can contact your local Womens, Infants and Childrens (WIC) division of the public health department. They have lots of useful information as well as referal services for new parents.
No way! Breastmilk or formula. ONLY
ice cream will be too much for his digestive system to handle. try some non gaseous foods pureed..carrots, beets...if you are doing the natural thing u can get some ideas from the baby food sold in the stores....if not buy a jar and see how he responds.
definately not
i would'nt do that unless you want to wear it!
No!!!!!!!!!. How old are you??.You develop his taste spuds gradually with mashed pureed fruit and veg! maybe a little baby rice no earlier than 6 months. Avoid strawberries.
breast milk or formula only!
Definitely no to both and also remember NEVER to give the baby salt in anything or you could end up with a very sick and dehydrated baby. Go see your Health visitor or GP for more advice.
No
Please don't feed him ice cream (even melted). Mainly due to the very high sugar content.

Stick to regular baby formula or what you normally feed him.
I would wait until the child is at least 6 months old. They are really not supposed to have anything like that. I know it might be tempting to see the baby's reaction, but please wait. It could make the baby sick.
no, babies need the nourishment they recieve in breast milk or formula
no ice cream! Babies that young can't digest regular milk yet! .... If you want to give him food, mix some formula into some baby cereal and try that. Mashed banana would be ok too.... but remember, whenever you introduce a new food to your baby, you should wait 3-4 days before trying a new one. That's to see if they have any allergic reaction. If you give him a bunch of new foods, you won't know what he's allergic to!
